I'll give you stats of two players. You tell me who the guys are. I'll post the answer in the comments section tomorrow.
Player A - rookie season: 280 AB 22 HR 43 RBI .293 BA .952 OPS
Player B - rookie season: 312 AB 22 HR 63 RBI .288 BA .923 OPS
Player A - 2007: 209 AB 14 HR 37 RBI .273 BA .884 OPS
Player B - 2007: 207 AB 17 HR 53 RBI .256 BA .938 OPS
Player A - Chris Duncan
ReplyDeletePlayer B - Ryan Howard
Of course Scott is right, because he looked them up. Who would have figured this? After 2005 everyone made a big deal about Howard, but Duncan last year was actually better, except for RBI which were a product of how they were used.
ReplyDeleteAnd this year while Howard was a top fantasy selection, Master Bates is getting very similar production out of Duncan who was a late round draft pick.
Not saying the players are comparable, but pointing out the statistics are closer than you'd think.
