We Should Keep Our Eyes On This Kid

There's a boy in Texas named Flint who probably should be under federal surveillance for the rest of his life. After the local-TV weatherman Albert Ramon visited Flint's school, Flint's teacher had the class write thank you letter to Ramon. Here is Flint's letter:

"Thank you again for teaching us about meteorology [sic], you're more awesome than a monkey wearing a tuxedo made out of bacon riding a cyborg unicorn with a lightsaber for the horn on the tip of a space shuttle closing in on Mars while engulfed [sic] in flames...And in case you didn't know, that's pretty dang sweet."

I've got my eye on you, Flint.

We Would Never Pull This on Chase

Jimmy Kimmel challenged parents of America to tell their kids they had eaten all the Halloween candy, and record the reactions and post them to youtube. Kimmel compiled the best ones into this clip:

My favorite is the one who said "dad, you're ugly."

Chase Sold Me Out

Chase is supposed to be my buddy. He looks just like me, acts just like me and will probably grow up to be just like me. I care for him, I feed him, I love him, I teach him things. And for the most part this arrangement works. But every once in a while Chase works against me.
We were in the local smoke shop/news stand buying tickets for the big Mega Millions drawing. There were 3 people on line in front of us including 2 middle aged ladies.

Note: middle-aged used to mean old, now it means "a couple years older than I am."

Chase runs right up the counter where there was a magazine display and says "look daddy, just like the magazine you have."

And he points at -- the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
