Wimbledon hopeful Simona Halep wants surgery to reduce the size of her breasts.

Halep, 17, is seen as one of the tennis stars of the future after winning a host of junior titles and a place in the final of the junior French Open last year.

But the 5-foot-5-inch Romanian tennis star said she thinks her 34DD bust is holding her back.

"This fall I'll have a breast reduction operation,” Halep said. “The breasts make me uncomfortable when I play."

"It's the weight that troubles me — my ability to react quickly," she added.

Good for Andy Roddick

Andy Roddick has withdrawn from a tourney in Dubai after a female tennis player was denied an entry visa to Dubai because she is Israeli.
Shahar Peer, the 48th-ranked women’s player in the world was unable to play in the Barclay's Dubai Tennis Championships.
Tournament officials cited local public opinion about Israel’s incursion into the Gaza Strip, the possibility of a spectator boycott and the security of Peer as reasons to deny her a visa.
Andy Ram of Israel was allowed to play in the men's tournament which is currently underway.
And kudos also to the Tennis Channel which decided not to broadcast the tournaments, instead airing the best matches from Peer's and Ram's careers.

The ATP and WTA, as well as all the players, specifically the Williams sisters (who often complain about discrimination -- evidently only until it applies to someone else) should be ashamed of their decision to participate. And Barclay's should have withdrawn its sponsorship of the event.

But hopefully the exposure given this issue will prevent this from happening again in the future.

Tennis Player We Can Root For

James Blake employed an old wrestling tactic for his first round match at the U.S. Open. Looking for "cheap heat," Blake came out wearing a Mets shirt with the #16 and his name on the back. I couldn't find a picture of that but I did find this shot where you can see (if you look closely) a Mets logo on his left sleeve.
Blake who is from Yonkers, is actually a big Mets fan, so I applaud his support of the local team.

"I was looking in the mirror and my waist is still 28 inches. I think it's all because I have a large bosom and a large ass. I have a large ass and it always just looks like I'm bigger than the rest of the girls. I've been the same weight for I don't know how long and I could lose 20 pounds and I'm still going to have these knockers and I'm going to have this ass and that's just the way it is."
