Hot Racist Kicked Off Olympic Team
Greek triple jumper Voula Papachristou was kicked off the Olympic team for this racist tweet:
"With so many Africans in Greece, the West Nile mosquitoes will be getting homemade food!!!"
It's a shame about her being a miserable racist because she is really freakin hot.

Is that really racist? I don't think it is, just an unfunny joke really. And oh yeah, she is pretty hot
I had the same reaction - it's a stupid thing to say but I don't think it's racist.
I try not be oversensitive about these things but I thought this was clearly racist. In the US everyone is an immigrant but you can start to see resentment towards newer immigrants. In Europe people can literally trace their ancestry 1000s of years therefore hatred of outsiders is more real, more accepted and more virulent.
In Greece especially because it is in financial ruin the blaming of outsiders is more prevalent. In fact the neo-Nazi party there got a substantial amount of the vote in the latest election and Voula has reportedly tweeted support for the party in the past.
I still don't see it. She didn't say "with so many Africans (which I hate and am better than)". That would be racist. She made a claim that there are alot of Africans there...which is a surprise to me actaully, I had know idea. I really think this is blown out of proportion

That's a pretty simplistic way of looking at it Jay. But yes, of course there has to be context. And the context is that she very likely blames immigrants, especially the Africans for her country's problems.
