A few months ago I contrived a question to get some UFC chatter going on the Poop -- who would lose first, Anderson Silva, Rashad Evans or Brock Lesnar.
We all chose Evans, but it was TON who correctly predicted the man to do it:
"...my real guess...Lyoto Machida. He's so damn elusive he barely gets touched in his fights, but can bring the pain in a big way when needed. I wish they would pump this guy more...although never getting touched may not be good for the fan appeal."
That brings me to another question I asked a few months ago. After reading something that basically said Machida is the perfect test for any MMA fan. If you like Machida you appreciate the technical aspects of the sport. If you hate Machida then you are a troglodyte who just likes to see people bleed and get knocked out.
So I asked SCZA for his thoughts on Machida and he said "he's not a very exciting fighter." Point proven, TON = sophisticated aficianado, SCZA = blood mark.

Thanks, I take that as a compliment, and an achievement. I'll use it as defense if Special K ever gives me too much heat for watching UFC all the time (although she's actually totally cool with it).
Lyoto is starting to lose his rep as a "boring fighter". Perhaps its his comfort level with the spotlight, or maybe realizing that he can triple his earnings by throwing a few more punches and getting bigger endorsements.
Also, it was good to see him be sorta giddy with excitement after defeating Rashad. It proved he wasn't just totally boring, and too serious to get pumped about a big win.
BTW...he's 205....Silva can go 205...Dana White is constantly saying that he needs to find something to challenge Silva. Enticing him with 2 belts after a fight with Machida would take care of that need. It would also lead to intant Ton death due to blood loss from gigantic erection.
I am not a blood mark... I enjoyed the technical battle between Diaz and Stevenson
UFC is garbage. Watch some real boxing.
Nails - that's the point ya douche! It's not supposed to BE boxing, or replace it. Boxers box better than almost all MMA fighters...but MMA fighters use a multitude of other forms of fighting, which make it an entirely different sport.
It's not as different as football and basketball are to each other...but still totally different. The simple fact that you have to defend yourself from a takedown basically makes pure traditional boxing impossible in MMA.
They basically shouldn't be compared. I like MMA better, you like Boxing better. That's cool, but don't compare them and think of MMA as "poor man's boxing alternative" or whatever.
