"Cherry, Cherry" - Neil Diamond
This was Neil Diamond's first big hit, and it's been all downhill ever since.
This song kind of reminds me of "What I Like About You" crossed with "Hang on Sloopy."

Metaphorically speaking, his best song came first, followed soon after by his brilliant cover of "Both Sides Now" (SOTW, 12/27/06), and he hasn't done anything as good since, despite a long and successful musical career.
Having sat through a Neil Diamond concert last year with my wife and hearing his hits and seeing his loyal fans - I only hope my career goes downhill that well
