Super Bowl L Prop Bets
We're going in with the attitude that the Panthers will win, win big and Peyton Manning will get beaten up and have a bad game.
First team to score 17 points
Panthers -170
I don't even think the Broncos will reach 17 points for the entire game
First turnover of the game
Interception -160
I expect Manning to throw at least 3
Will the game be decided by exactly 3 points
No -450
You think one of every 5 and half games ends by exactly 3 points? I don't and this one I consider even less likely to be so
Total Interceptions - Both teams
Over 1 1/2 -180
I would expect Manning to throw at least 2
Pick Your Own Point Spread
Carolina Panthers -13 1/2 +250
Interesting concept here, I like this idea though because I have the Panthers in a blowout.
Total Rushing Yards by Jonathan Stewart
Over 68 1/2 -110
This doesn't seem like a lot
Will Luke Kuechly intercept a pass
Yes +230
He has pick-6s in each of the last two games, plus the Thanksgiving game as well
Peyton Manning Pass Attempts
Over 35 1/2 -110
Will Peyton Manning throw an interception
Yes -210
Total Receiving Yards Demaryius Thomas
Over 72 1/2 +120
Odds for MVP
Cam Newton 5/7
Luke Kuechly 12/1
After Manning and Newton, Kuechly is the third choice. Surprising, but I guess I'm not the only one who thinks the Panthers defense is going to dominate
Player to Score First Touchdown
Ted Ginn 10/1
Newton likes him and Greg Olsen, I'll go with Ginn at slightly higher odds
Final score
Carolina wins by 25-29 Points 14/1
Now on to the fun stuff
Length of Lady Gaga's National Anthem
under 2:20 -120
I don't view her as someone who is going to painfully drag it out
What color footwear will Beyonce wear at halftime
Black +150
The obvious choice
"Yellow" is not the first Coldplay song -380
How can it not be "Skyful of Stars" does this band even have other popular songs?
Beyonce cleavage visible -275
She'll start covered up and then rip off her clothes to reveal some kind of weird top with mesh covering her boobies. But you'll see it and I'll win this wager

Super Bowl Prop Bets
This is actually one of my favorite posts to write all year, even though it normally takes me hours. This year I'm using bovada and betonline but I can't direct link to the proper pages so you'll have to find them yourself. We'll start with the game and then move on to the ridiculous.
Super Bowl MVP
Rob Gronkowski 10/1
Tom Brady at 2/1 is a little too obvious and Russell Wilson at 7/2 is still a high price for a QB who is not the focal point of his team. If the Seahawks win it could very well be a random defensive player again. If the Pats win Brady will get the benefit of the doubt, but I feel confident that Gronk scores 2 TDs at least 10% of the time.
Player to Score First TD
Marshawn Lynch 11/2
Rob Gronkowski 13/2
Roughly 6 to 1 that one of these guys will be the one. The odds have to be better than 15%. Both of them are the focal points for their teams' offenses and likely a big part of their early game strategy as well.
Chandler Jones Sacks
Over 1/2 (-150)
Wilson does a lot of scrambling so Chandler could catch him one yard behind the line and still get credit for a sack.
Russell Wilson Passing Yards
Under 219 1/2 (-105)
I think the Patriots secondary is quite good and the Seahakws receivers aren't. I just don't see Wilson having a big passing game.
Russell Wilson Rushing Yards
Over 40 1/2 (-125)
I guess these last three bets all fit together. The Patriots defensive backs tightly cover the Seahawks receivers, Wilson is forced to scramble a lot. If the game doesn't play out like that I could very well be wrong on everything, including my pick of New England to win.
Marshawn Lynch Rushing Attempts
Under 20 1/2 (even)
This seems like a lot, unless the Seahawks have a big lead and try to pound the rock -- and do so effectively.
Luke Wilson Receptions
5 or more (+400)
I know this is kind of a long shot but he is a frequent safety valve for his brother Russell so he could see the ball quite a bit.
Richard Sherman Interceptions
Under 1/2 (-230)
Richard Sherman Tackles
Under 3 1/2 (-105)
I just think Sherman is not going to have a huge impact on this game.
Will Rob Gronkowski have more than 100 receiving yards
Yes (+190)
I wouldn't say I necessarily think this is going to happen, but I like the wager at this price.
Now let's move on to the fun stuff.
Minutes of Silva-Diaz vs. Legarrette Blount carries
Silva Diaz (-105)
I'm just not sure if Silva has it in him anymore for a first round knockout. More likely this goes the full 25. Unlikely Blount gets more than 15 carries.
How Long Will It Take Idina Menzel to Sing the National Anthem
Under 2 minutes and 1 second (-130)
I know she is a ham and she will hold some notes, but this is incredibly long for the anthem. Even Whitney Houston didn't break the 2-minute barrier.
Will Idina Menzel Omit or Forget At Least One Word
No (-700)
There is zero chance this is happening. She is way too conscientious too not have studied and way too seasoned to get nervous. If I owned a hedge fund I would put all my money on this and then close our books for the year with a 14% return.
What Color Will Bill Belichicl's Hoodie Be?
Grey (-120)
This is pretty much a two horse race with blue (no way he wears red) but I kind of feel like grey is the easy choice here.
What Will Katy Perry Be Wearing When She Begins the Halftime Show?
Pants (+450)
This is a huge dog but I think it has a real shot. Because she could come out in something covered up and then strip it away as the show goes on.
Will Katy Perry Be Showing Cleavage During the Halftime Show?
Yes (-700)
She didn't pay thousands of dollars for those things only to keep them covered up in front of the biggest audience she'll ever have.
What Will the Nielsen Rating of the Game Be?
Over 47 1/2 (-120)
Always tricky but these games keep getting more popular and I expect this one to be close and exciting.
What Color Gatorade Will be Dumped on the Winning Coach's Head?
Orange (3/2)
The Patriots always go with the tried and true.
Temperature at Kickoff
Under 67 1/2 degrees (-115)
It has been unseasonably cool in Arizona all week.

Super Bowl Prop Bets
Who cares who wins the game? What we want to know is, what color will the Gatorade be? So here are some prop bets for this year’s Super Bowl from Bovada.com:
SUPER BOWL MVP
Peyton Manning 11/10
There really is no other choice here. If the Broncos win he’s the MVP. If you believe the Broncos win slightly more than 50% of the time, this is a good bet.
Richard Sherman 20/1
Sherman is good for a long shot. The odds are way shorter than they should be because of all the hype surrounding him, but that could also increase the chances voters choose him. If Seattle win 17-10 and Sherman has a key pick, he could definitely win the award. Dexter Jackson and Larry Brown are two defensive backs who have won Super Bowl MVP Awards.
Player to Score First Touchdown
Julius Thomas 8/1
He seems to be Manning’s go-to target in the red zone. But the odds are tricky because Denver has so many weapons.
Total Passing Yards – Peyton Manning
Under 290 ½ (-125)
I think the Broncos will struggle at times in this game, especially hitting long passes. Their offense will be methodical in both passing and running games.
Total Receiving Yards – Wes Welker
Over 57 ½ (-125)
I think the Seahawks are going to clamp down on the outside receivers and I expect a lot of short passes over the middle to Welker.
Total tackles and assists – Richard Sherman
Under 3 ½ (-125)
Teams just don’t throw at him enough.
Total Sacks – Michael Bennett
Over ½ (+120)
Manning doesn’t avoid sacks with his feet, he avoids them by throwing the ball. I think we can count on at least one or two from the Seahawks and Bennett is a pretty good guess.
Who will catch a pass first? Andre Caldwell or Jermaine Kearse
Jermaine Kearse -150
Caldwell is barely even an option for Manning. Kearse is emerging as one of Wilson’s preferred targets.
Renee Fleming National Anthem
Under 2 minutes 25 seconds (+110)
I think every year I take under and lose. But this is an incredibly long drawn out version of the Anthem
Will Renee Fleming Wear Gloves?
Yes (-300)
Easy money. It’s not going to be a freezing blizzard, but it will definitely be cold enough for gloves.
How Many Times will Eli Manning be shown on TV during the game?
Under 1 ½ (+110)
The networks actually don’t overdo this during the Super Bowl. And I am sure Eli will try to stay out of sight.
Who will be seen first after kickoff? Erin Andrews or Pam Oliver
Erin Andrews (-140)
Please God don’t show Pam Oliver. There are children watching.
How many times will Peyton Manning say Omaha?
Under 27 ½ (-105)
He said it 31 times during the AFC Championship, but obviously it’s just a decoy now, and not all that funny anymore.
Which Song will Bruno Mars perform first?
Treasure 5/1
In my extensive knowledge of his catalog I think this is his most up-tempo number.
What will Bruno Mars be wearing on his head at the start of his performance?
Fedora – Even
Like taking candy from a baby
Will Wes Welker drop a pass?
No – Even
The guy drops one pass in a Super Bowl, on a poorly thrown ball and you never let him forget it.
What color will the Gatorade be?
Orange – Even
If Broncos win it will surely be orange.
Who will the Super Bowl MVP mention first in his speech?
Teammates – Even
It’s Peyton Manning and team comes first to him.
How many average viewers will the game have?
Under 112 million – Even
If the game isn’t close audience will drop off towards the end.

Super Bowl Prop Bets
This is always a fun post to do, check out the props and pick some of your own in the comments section.
MVP: Colin Kaepernick 8/5
I think the 49ers are going to win the game and if they do there is a very good chance Kaepernick will win the MVP. Even if the defense dominates, it’s unlikely there will be one standout. And by default the idiots who pick these things will go with the quarterback on the winning team.
First Player to score a TD: Anquan Boldin 17/2, Torrey Smith 17/2
I think these are pretty long odds, for these guys. I know running backs are always surer things but I’ll take both of them and see what happens.
Longest Reception – Torrey Smith: Over 28 ½ yards (-125)
I know the Ravens are at least going to try to go downfield to Smith. 29 yards doesn’t seem that long to me.
Total Tackles and Assists - Ray Lewis: Under 11 1/2 (+105)
That's a lot of tackles. In order for this to happen the 49ers would have to be running the ball up the middle a lot.
Total Rushing Yards - Colin Kaepernick: Over 50 1/2 (-115)
He had a huge game against the Packers, and barely ran against the Falcons. This is a tricky number because he will probably have to break one long one (20+) to get there, but I say he will.
Will Michael Crabtree score a touchdown: No (-115)
I feel this is going to be a low scoring game, with more of the focus on the 49ers running game. Sure it's possible Crab will grab one, but at nearly even odds, no looks like a good bet.
Who will have more receiving yards? Torrey Smith +12 1/2 Michael Crabtree (-115)
Maybe I'm mistaken here but I see the Ravens throwing the ball a little more often, and going deep more often. One big one for Smith makes this a good bet.
LeBron James Rebounds & Assists -3 1/2 Ray Lewis Tackles and Assists (-120)
Again this is a play on Lewis having only about 8 or 9 tackles. LeBron could easily mess around and get a triple double against the Raptors.
Blake Griffin Points and Rebounds pick'em Ray Rice receiving yards (-115)
I'm looking at 25 easy for Griffin and there's a good chance Rice only gets one or two short receptions.
How long will it take Alicia Keys to sing the National Anthem? Under 2:10 (-160)
It's actually a very short song and even the long drawn out versions seldom last more than 2 minutes. I think this line is easily exploitable.
Will Beyonce be joined by Jay Z on Stage during the Super Bowl Half Time Show? Yes (-105)
I have read that Jay-Z is going to be there and requested $5,000 worth of booze for his dressing room. I also read that Beyonce demanded that Blue Ivy's $20,000 crib be shipped from New York and that a room for her be kept at 78.8 degrees and filled with rose-scented candles. But if he's going to be there, he might as well do "Crazy in Love."
How many times will Jack Harbaugh be shown on TV? Under 2 1/2 (+135)
I've been following props like this for some time and seems like the Super Bowl production teams just don't do this as much as we think they would. Now, if one of the quarterbacks were dating Katherine Webb, that would be a different story.
How long will the post game handshake/hug last between Jim & John Harbaugh? Over 6 seconds (-120)
This is a no-brainer. It starts from the moment they touch until the moment they release. So if they handshake, hug, then break while still holding, they could easily break 10 seconds.
What Color will the Gatorade (or liquid) be that is dumped on the Head Coach of the Winning Super Bowl Team? Red 13/2
I am thinking the 49ers are going to win, so I'll hope some clever 49ers sideline guy will have a bucket full of Red gatorade.
Darren Rovell tweets on Super Bowl Sunday? Over 104 1/2 (-115)
Not sure if you follow him but Rovell is the most prolific narcissist on Twitter. He might even do 200.
