Though the Mets went 16-12 (.571) in the month of May it was a rough month to be a starting pitcher. Mets starters went 6-8 in May. Not bad, but when you consider that Tom Glavine was 5-0, it doesn't look so good anymore. El Duque got the other win in his first start, against Florida.
The bullpen went 10-4, but a couple of those victories should have belonged to the starters. And June has started off in similar fashion. Despite allowing 3 runs in 14 innings combined Tom Glavine and Steve Trachsel were both saddled with no decisions.
