All We Need is a Miracle

The last time the Mets played a Game 6 in Shea Stadium a ball rolled through Bill Buckner's legs. I think the Mets will need a similar miracle to beat the Cardinals. The Mets just don't have any pitching. In 8 postseason games the starter made it through the 5th inning only 3 times. I have zero confidence in Maine against Carpenter and even less in whomever will pitch Game 7.
If you believe the Mets have a 50/50 shot in each of the two games, then they have a 25% chance to win them both. So I would say the Mets have about a 10% chance to make it to the World Series at this point.

Need the Mets to win on Thursday.

First of all the Thursday Night College Football game is Virginia-North Carolina. Yawn.

Second of all, we need the amusing irony of Jeff Suppan pitching against Darren Oliver for a spot in the World Series.

Yes, the starting pitching is faltering, but our bullpen is digging us out of it.

It's the bats that need to wake up! 4 runs in 20 innings against Weaver and Suppan just isn't going to cut it. We're talking about a dynamic offense that is best in the NL, and one of the top 5 in the game! Snap out of it!! Hopefully Shea can will us to game 7. Sure I don't like the fact that we don't even have a starting pitcher for that game, but the Cards are starting Reyes so I like our chances if we can get past Carpenter. GO METS!
