Some kid downloaded "Speed of Sound" by Coldplay from iTunes.
He did not know it, but it was the billionth song the site had sold.
So at 12:45 a.m., his phone rang. It was an Apple employee, telling him that in addition to the song, Apple was giving him a 20-inch iMac, 10 iPods and a $10,000 gift card for the iTunes store. It is even establishing a scholarship at the Juilliard School in his name.

He's also being grounded for getting called at his parents' home at 12:45am waking his father who has to get up at "the ass-crack of dawn so I can go to work and put food on the table and feed my good for nuthin' son."
I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also found that to be curious, why did they call a 16 year old kid in the middle of the night? Maybe the download had just happened, so they knew he was awake?
thank god, I was about to have the "Free Master Bates" t-shirts printed up. I guess the march on your office building won't be necessary anymore either.
