Ok, so we know by now that our girl Michelle Kwan will not be competing in the Olympics. She got hurt. But she deserved her spot on the team. She didn't earn it in the trials but she earned with her career (9 U.S. titles, 5 world titles). The USOC is charged with sending the best team to the Olympics, that's why they were willing to give Kwan the spot. Ironically, Kwan lost her spot in 1994 to Nancy Kerrigan, different circumstances surrounded Kerrigan's injury, but it's still worth noting. And I know that Kwan choked twice before in the Olympics but if healthy she still earned her shot. And one last note, Emily Hughes is not Sarah Hughes (nor Erin Hughes) she is not a medal contender, experts predict a top 10 finish would be a success for her.
