Gotta love those extra inning games on the West Coast. I took a nap at around 9, so I was able to wake up, catch up on DVR and watch the last half of the game live.

I felt like I was watching last year's team though. Once again the bottom of the order is three automatic outs who can't advance runners or drive them home. In the first inning with two on and nobody out Matsui flied out and Chavez hit into a double play. In the seventh with first and third and one out Chavez couldn't hit a fly ball, hit a weak grounder costing the Mets the runner at third.

Jose Reyes (4 for last 31) and David Wright (1 for last 19) are in miserable slumps.

Carlos Beltran is going to have another unproductive season. Either he doesn't play or he plays poorly due to injury.

Carlos Delgado on the other hand is awesome. I am starting to think that I was wrong about him and that playing half his games in Shea will not hurt his power numbers.

Brian Bannister will not have a long and successful major league career unless he learns to throw strikes. It's great that he has been able to get out of these jams, but like Vincent Vega says "you play with matches and you're gonna get burned." Also, a 5 inning pitcher exhausts the bullpen too much.

It was nice to see Mike Piazza sucking for the other team. He walked his first two times up then in the fifth he got up with first and second and nobody out and he hit into a double play.

Keith Hernandez mistakenly called Pedro Feliciano, Jose Feliciano. Gary Cohen said that Jose could "sing the national anthem, but he'd have trouble throwing strikes." Jose Feliciano sang "Feliz Navidad." He's also blind.

Other than one great inning on Thursday the Mets have scored 1 run in each of the last four games.

If I had to take away one positive from last night, the bullpen really looked great. Even Bradford who gave up the winning run had great stuff, I think he just ran out of gas.

Mets need Pedro to be the stopper tonight.
